Why locals love it

The only indication that Kazu is worth stopping at is the line that forms in front before they open. Once inside, the atmosphere is warm and lively – akin to what you’d experience in a Japanese izakaya. The space is tight so go with friends you aren’t afraid to be elbow-to-elbow with or snag a coveted seat at the bar to watch the chefs in action.

Why you should visit it

You won’t see sushi here – nor will you miss it. The food is fantastic: Japanese fare bursts with taste while even the unlikeliest combinations work well. Warm up by ordering sake and don’t skip out on trying one of their homemade soft vanilla ice creams with unique flavours like Kahlua, wasabi, green tea, and more.

Special tip

Locals rave about the Tuna and Salmon Salad Rice Bowl, Buta-Don 48-hour Pork Bowl, and of course, the Shrimp Burger. You’re welcome.
