The city’s best kept
secret
Le Sainte-Élisabeth23
Why locals love it
Difficult to find as it is tucked in a narrow, graffitied alley on the corner of Sainte-Catherine street, Le Sainte-Élisabeth is the literal definition of a hole-in-the-wall. It may look rundown from the outside but once inside, you know you’ve found a gem. Those in the know party here and it is definitely where the locals gather.

Why you should visit it
This two-storey, European-style pub is located in an antique building, which adds to its warm and inviting vibe. Choose among a selection of domestic and imported beers, bottled or on tap, along with whiskey, cognac, and port. The bar comes alive in summertime, making finding a seat on their outdoor terrace a challenging task.
Special tip
Their enclosed, ivy-covered terrace, which is heated in winter, is one of the best in Montreal.
