A staple in Montreal’s
New City Gas8
Why locals love it
Located in Griffintown, New City Gas operates as a concert venue/nightclub for house music aficionados and welcomes DJs from all over the world. The complex’s namesake stems from its origins as this heritage building – that dates back to 1859 – was used to convert coal into gas to light up the city, which, in a way, it continues to do so today.
Why you should visit it
Sultan & Ned Shepard, Morgan Page, David Guetta, Tiësto, Deadmau5, and the members of Swedish House Mafia have all performed live sets here. With a crowd of over 3,000 partygoers per week, the overall experience at New City Gas is heightened with state of the art sound and lighting that spectacularly contrasts remnants of their past foundations.
New City Gas is open during event nights only (Saturdays and certain Fridays).
