Bienvenue Chez Olive

Why locals love it
Attracting everyone from regulars, to Old Montreal’s numerous visitors, this bakery turned café boasts fresh, local products. Their quirky decor will surely charm you. Always on and animated, Olive gets packed fairly quickly but takeout is an option if you’re on the go. Visit them for brunch, lunch paired with a glass of wine, coffee, and pastries.
Why you should visit it
Food is prepared using seasonal produce and chefs bring out the best in these ingredients. My mouth can’t help but water when I think of their homemade ricotta dish served with cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, roasted pine nuts, and toast, all drizzled in lemon oil. On my recent visit, they played a set of songs from The xx – so they get extra points.
During summer, you can enjoy a sandwich or pastry on the little park bench stationed right outside.
