Verdun has a lot to offer: nice coffee place, a lot of restaurant, bars trendy shop on the Wellington street. There's also a nice small beach near the river (5 minutes walk from de l'Église subway station)...a long side walk in nature near the river too. Go out at De l'Église subway station and enjoy. Try Station W for a nice coffee.

Not too touristic, a lot to offer from cofee places, small beach, bars to nice restaurant.
