The museum in located in the constructivist building of the Bakhmetevsky Bus Garage. It holds permanent exposition (about the history of Jews in Russia) and temporary art- and photo- exhibitions. The museum is situated in Maryina Roscha - the place where Jews used to settle, so there is a synagogue and shops with kosher food nearby.
Why you should visit it
The museum is very new (it was open only in 2012), so you can expect modern atmosphere and a lot of interactive showpieces. There are a lot of events taking place, from lectures to workshops. There is also a cafe just in the museum.
The museum is closed on Saturdays AND Jewish holidays
