Why locals love it

The museum in located in the constructivist building of the Bakhmetevsky Bus Garage. It holds permanent exposition (about the history of Jews in Russia) and temporary art- and photo- exhibitions. The museum is situated in Maryina Roscha - the place where Jews used to settle, so there is a synagogue and shops with kosher food nearby.

Why you should visit it

The museum is very new (it was open only in 2012), so you can expect modern atmosphere and a lot of interactive showpieces. There are a lot of events taking place, from lectures to workshops. There is also a cafe just in the museum.

Special tip

The museum is closed on Saturdays AND Jewish holidays
