Why locals love it

Not only is this place really nice for walking, locals like to come here for events, ferry rides and to relax on the grass along the embankment. Music and folk festivals are also held here.

Why you should visit it

Learn about Russian history by exploring the architecture and museum complexes. In summer the “Picnic Afishi” music festival takes place here with famous foreign and Russian bands. You can also cycle and roller skate here, but only in permitted areas.

Special tip

Note that it’s prohibited to drink alcohol and hang out here from 21:00 Oct-Apr, and after midnight May-Sep.

Free of charge entrance for students (at least that was the case when I went there a few years back) and a nice viewing point.

I often walk here. There is a barton here. Try to visit it in the morning so there would be a few tourists.
