After meeting you at your hotel in Moscow, we’ll take public transport to a Russian dacha in Obninsk – a small city where my parents live. We’ll visit my family, have a traditional Russian breakfast and decide what to do next.
If you like cooking, we can go to the local market to buy some fresh produce and cook traditional Russian food for dinner. The recipes will change based on what’s available at the market, but if you want to learn how to prepare a specific dish – borsch or syrniki, for example – we can do it.
In the evening we’ll enjoy the food we prepared with vodka or homemade wine. During the meal we’ll talk about Russian culture, traditions, politics and history, as well as the Russian mentality.
Free time options:
– Visit Maloyaroslavets: the city of Russian military glory during the war with Napoleon Bonaparte
– Ethnographic museum: a collection of traditional houses and crafts from different cultures
– Banya: traditional Russian sauna
– Ice-skating, snowball fighting, making a snowman, snow tubing
– Barbeque in the forest, mushroom hunting or fishing
After dinner, you can return to Moscow by train or taxi, or you can stay with us for the night and the following day (it will not influence the price).
