Hi Donal!

In the Old Town, its common to use local currency (konvertible marks) as well as Kuna and Euros (2 marks to 1 euro). So, if you have these currencies on hand, that can be useful. There are a couple of new exchange offices in old town (close to old bridge) which make currency exchange more convenient as well many ATMs throughout the city. You may want to check with your bank to see what fees it will charge for ATM use. Although cash is preferred, credit cards are generally accepted! Hope this helps!
