Jimmy Boy is one of the few surviving restaurants in the city specializing in the cuisine of the Parsees, a tiny Westernized minority who once dominated the city’s banks, commerce and intellectual life. The food is authentic and relatively inexpensive.
The main reason to visit is to try the special non-vegetarian lagan nu bhonu set meal, designed to offer the experience of a traditional Parsee wedding banquet. This set meal includes Parsee specialties such as patra ni macchhi, salli margi, mutton pulao with dhansak dal, and, for dessert, lagan nu custard.
Try the Pallonji branded soft drinks, with their unique Parsee-oriented flavors, such as raspberry, “ice cream soda” and ginger.
