I have been a Mumbai sightseeing guide since 2010. It was the fulfillment of a dream I have had for over a decade. I love the beauty and history of Mumbai City and enjoy sharing my passion and enthusiasm for Mumbai with visitors and residents alike.
My company also conducts private, group, and special occasion tours. My tours are always evolving and changing, much like our city, and I always try to give my guests the very newest and complete information available. I love what I do, plain and simple. This is not a job for me; it is my life's passion

Description
Start your private tour with pickup from your Mumbai hotel, or from the cruise port or railway station.
Delve into the streets in a private, air-conditioned car with your guide, and hear about Mumbai’s history, including its time under British rule from the 18th to the 20th century, and how it is India’s second-largest city, with a population of about 18.4 million.
Stop first at the vast Dharavi Slum, Asia’s biggest, and home to nearly a million people. Take a walk through this town-within-a-town, crammed with thousands of makeshift huts. Learn about daily life here, and pass tiny bread and sweet shops, interspersed with dimly-lit manufacturing units hosting small-scale clothes-, pottery-, and soap-making businesses.
Absorb the strong sense of community, and visit the plastic and metal recycling yard, where workers sort materials for re-use, before delving into Kumbharwada, the community of clay potters dubbed the ‘city of lamps.’ Explore the lanes here, weaving through thousands of hand-made, kiln-fired pots being crafted as oil lamps for festivals.
Having explored Dharavi, take a tour of the colonial and modern faces of Mumbai.

First we were able to see the famous local open-air laundry where daily the Dhobi caste do laundry.
Then we went directly into the slums. We were shown the unhealthy plastic recycling process, the local bakery and other slums crafts. None of locals asked us for money! I will stop to describe, those who dare necessarily see for themselves.
General impressions.
Solid five for prividers! Do not doubt You will get out of Your zone of comfort. Some facts can be shocking and beyond belief. For example, hygiene and nutrition. I saw that even in the slums very very slowly but the digital age is coming. You can meet people with cheap mobile phones on it’s streets. Undoubtedly they are progressing. Of course we were taken out of the slums and driven back to ohr hotel)
Tips.
You need to respect the local rules and listen to the Guide! Please, if You are asked not to make photos You do not need to experiment to create problems for Yourself and the Guide. Where You can - You will be allowed. People are happy there - watch for correctness of Your statements! Always listen to the Guide. Do not be lazy to buy rubber/rain boots that will not be sorry to leave there, it is hard to find it in India.
Thanks for the tour to MysticalMumbai!

This is a small company, a tight team, and a great team. They spoke of their admiration for their management and how well respected and treated they were. A smart boss that knows happy employees make for happy customers. I was very impressed.
Its not a luxury tour if that’s what you’re looking for, but for me it was exactly the “real” experience I wanted. The price was an incredible bargain.
