I have been a Mumbai sightseeing guide since 2010. It was the fulfillment of a dream I have had for over a decade. I love the beauty and history of Mumbai City and enjoy sharing my passion and enthusiasm for Mumbai with visitors and residents alike.
My company also conducts private, group, and special occasion tours. My tours are always evolving and changing, much like our city, and I always try to give my guests the very newest and complete information available. I love what I do, plain and simple. This is not a job for me; it is my life's passion

Description

Start your private tour with pickup from your Mumbai hotel, or from the cruise port or railway station.
Delve into the streets in a private, air-conditioned car with your guide, and hear about Mumbai’s history, including its time under British rule from the 18th to the 20th century, and how it is India’s second-largest city, with a population of about 18.4 million.
Stop first at the vast Dharavi Slum, Asia’s biggest, and home to nearly a million people. Take a walk through this town-within-a-town, crammed with thousands of makeshift huts. Learn about daily life here, and pass tiny bread and sweet shops, interspersed with dimly-lit manufacturing units hosting small-scale clothes-, pottery-, and soap-making businesses.
Absorb the strong sense of community, and visit the plastic and metal recycling yard, where workers sort materials for re-use, before delving into Kumbharwada, the community of clay potters dubbed the ‘city of lamps.’ Explore the lanes here, weaving through thousands of hand-made, kiln-fired pots being crafted as oil lamps for festivals.
Having explored Dharavi, take a tour of the colonial and modern faces of Mumbai.

Truly Eye Opening
We were very pleased with this tour that brought a new appreciation and understanding to the activity inside the Dharavi Slum. The tour was professional and comprehensive, and after the first part (Dharavi) included a whirlwind tour of highlights of Mumbai. Even though it is many hours, it moves fast, and allowed us to quickly see some top attractions and gave us great foundation perspective of the city. The guide was informative and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour!

personal tour of Dharavi
I was interested in seeing slums to see the economic and business nature of them, I had heard about. The tour guide was very knowledgable and showed me a number of businesses and factories that produce goods or recycle things. I had a lot of questions and he was happy to stop and answer all of them. Overall the tour was very interesting, none of the local hassled as I was with the guide and I felt safe the whole time. I would highly recommend the tour if you can make time. Possibly not the most interesting place for children but teenagers onwards should see this.

Journey through the Dharavi slums
Hello everyone! I will tell You about our journey through the Dharavi slums. We were able to go there on 20.10.19. We agreed with providers about convenient time for us. Exactly at the appoint time we were met at the hotel by car and taken to the place of the starting. Our tour was in english. We very simply understood each other.

First we were able to see the famous local open-air laundry where daily the Dhobi caste do laundry.
Then we went directly into the slums. We were shown the unhealthy plastic recycling process, the local bakery and other slums crafts. None of locals asked us for money! I will stop to describe, those who dare necessarily see for themselves.

General impressions.
Solid five for prividers! Do not doubt You will get out of Your zone of comfort. Some facts can be shocking and beyond belief. For example, hygiene and nutrition. I saw that even in the slums very very slowly but the digital age is coming. You can meet people with cheap mobile phones on it’s streets. Undoubtedly they are progressing. Of course we were taken out of the slums and driven back to ohr hotel)

Tips.
You need to respect the local rules and listen to the Guide! Please, if You are asked not to make photos You do not need to experiment to create problems for Yourself and the Guide. Where You can - You will be allowed. People are happy there - watch for correctness of Your statements! Always listen to the Guide. Do not be lazy to buy rubber/rain boots that will not be sorry to leave there, it is hard to find it in India.

Thanks for the tour to MysticalMumbai!
This is a sad priceless experience that will remain for the life term!

So glad I did it
Was visiting Mumbai for the first time. The sheer size of the city and the number of people here can be overwhelming. I’m traveling with a friend who was here on business so had a lot of time to myself. I didn’t want to come this far and stay inside a hotel so I booked a 1/2 day tour early in the morning for the same day. I received a confirmation call at 9:00 and scheduled pick up at the hotel for 1:00. My guide Dev was amazing as was his talented driver. Dev was very knowledgeable, and so enthusiastic about sharing his story and experience of living life in Mumbai and seeing it through his eyes. I saw beautiful people and beautiful places much deeper than the sometimes harsh visuals of a very difficult life for many. I saw more than I knew I wanted to, enjoyed great conversation, and ended the day feeling greatly enriched. We arrived back to the hotel about 6:30. Thank you Dev.

This is a small company, a tight team, and a great team. They spoke of their admiration for their management and how well respected and treated they were. A smart boss that knows happy employees make for happy customers. I was very impressed.

Its not a luxury tour if that’s what you’re looking for, but for me it was exactly the “real” experience I wanted. The price was an incredible bargain.

Best ever tour guide
This week we have visited Mumbai. Our Elephant Island followed by a city tour couldn’t have been better. Kheersana our guide is one of the best guides we have had. Wonderful local knowledge followed by a fabulous sense of humour and gentleness. We highly recommend it all.

Half day tour with Suraj
My first time in Mumbai so I wanted to have a quick tour of the city to have an idea of what should be explored. Mission accomplished. Suraj, my guide, despite his young age has a good knowledge of the places and their histories as he has lived his entire life in Mumbai. He is well spoken and easy to understand even for me who English is a second language. He is back to school to increase his knowledge. It is clear that he is passionate about what he is doing and I can see a great future for him in this industry. Thanks Suraj, great tour.
