Why locals love it
The new kid on the block re-opened in 2013 after years of renovation and the new extension of the building is so shiny you either love it or hate it. Many love it as it increases the space for the incredible exhibitions of fine modern art pieces.
Why you should visit it
The collection consists very largely of German and related art in the 19th and 20th centuries, with the focus is on the Blaue Reiter group, especially Kandinsky and his companion Gabrielle Muenter.
Special tip
Take your time and sit down on a bench in the beautiful courtyard.
