The Platzl (little square) used to be a small market place but nowadays is a place of contrast. On the one side traditional architecture and home to a Michelin Star-restaurant and great shops (especially the spice shop "Schuhbecks Gewürze"). On the other side also the Hard Rock Café and the (in)famous Hofbräuhaus is situated here.
This square appears like a miniature Bavarian wonderland. If you love details then this square has a lot to offer. The houses are tenderly renovated with small passages guiding you through little courtyards and side streets.
Try to find the little courtyard with the small well - it is amazing how peaceful it can be just 10m away from the tourist crowds.
