Hi! The airport has a subway stop, and you can take the subway right into central Munich.

Hi Laura, I would recommend taking the suburban train S8 or S1. They reach the center (Hauptbahnohof, Stachus or Marienplatz) via different directions, but both take about 45 minutes (ticket costs about 11 euros). In case you have quite some luggage, you could also rent a car2go and reach the city in about 30 minutes and might cost up to 25 euros. Taking a taxi could cost up to 100 euros.

If you fly into MUC (Franz Joseph Strauss int'l) you can take the S-bahn directly to the city center. Follow the green "S" signs to the S1 or S8; either will take about 45 minutes to the city and cost around 11.60 euro. A taxi cab will cost about 75 euro and take just as long.

Lufthansa Airport Shuttle. Starting from Main Station or Nordfriedhof ( Northern).

I live here and always take the LH bus. Roundtrip is €17, which is cheaper than the S-Bahn. It runs every 15 minutes with stop in Schwabing and then Hauptbahnhof (main train station. No lugging bags up and down escalators, comfy ride, above ground, nice to watch the scenery, and drop off at T1, T2, or central area (charter flights).

Take the S-Bahn into the city center (either s1 or s8- both will take you to the city center). It will take about 45 minutes or so. Ticket costs about 11-12 euros, which is way cheaper than a taxi (can range 70 euros up) and the distance is about the same.

Thank you, do they do a daily travel card or is best to buy a single ticket?

Depending on where you want to go & how often you'll use the card that day. The ticket prices are determined by the rings you're traveling to/from. I'd recommend getting a one-way ticket from the airport and then once you're in the city, you can get a daily ticket for the rings you'll be traveling within. You can also search for a daily card on the machines before entering the S-Bahn. See if it makes sense to purchase a daily card for you or a single ticket.

Also depending on how long you're planning on staying in Munich, you can also consider downloading the MVG app. They'll always give you routes on where to go to get to your destination and you can purchase the tickets within the app.
