Description

We provide a short, sharp and comprehensive overview of Munich’s historical centre. It’s amazing how much you can see and learn in just 2 hours when you’re with a professional guide who knows how to combine in-depth detail with concision and humour.

We'll show you the highlights – the key historical sights, the most beautiful churches and the most famous beer halls. We won't ignore the more sinister aspects of 20th-century Nazi history, but we’ll introduce you the better face of our lovely city, too. We’ll also share what we think are the best stories and the most interesting facts.

Munich is a city of many identities: the heart of medieval Europe, the beer capital of the world, the "northernmost city in Italy", the “Athens of the Alps”, a great royal capital and the location of some very tragic history. Munich has been the playground of royalty and the common citizen alike. It has inspired artists, writers, architects, musicians, scientists, more than one madman and many visitors…

We enjoyed the tour and the guide Joyel. I would recommend it storngly at the beginning of the stay. We did take a "Third Reich and Hitler tour" the day before so it was nice to get the more cosy version as a tourist as well. Lots of nice stories, tips for shops and restaurants and sightseeing for the rest of our stay. We did not have the time for Scloss Neuschwanstein, which we would have loved to take. So we have to come back at another occasion.
Disappointing
We've been travelling through Europe this summer and have done several walking tours in other cities. This one was disappointing. Our guide did not seem to know that much history and we learned a lot about where to shop and Oktoberfest instead. He also discussed a lot of urban legends and stories. I found it lacking in any real substance. Might be good to have a native of the city AND country leading the tour.
Daniel Holder is an excellent guide
We greatly appreciated Daniels' knowledge of Bavarian culture, the excitement of Munich, and the long history of the Wittelsbachs. With Daniels family ties to the US he brings a special viewpoint to we American visitors to his homeland.
If we visit Munich again we will definitely book a tour with Daniel.

Intro to Munich
Great experience and a very informative tour through historic Munich. Our guide did a great job of mixing facts with a little humor. Great restaurant recommendations! This is a must for first time visitors to Munich....provides a great basis for moving on to individual discovery.
Great tour
Iain was a wonderful tour guide with great knowledge about Munich and a nice sense of humor.
Chaos on a Tour
Would have given this a lower rating, but our guide Ian was a reasonably good sport, even if not providing lots of good information. We showed up for our 10:15 tour to learn our guide had called in sick. We were offered a 10:30 tour in German (what?!). Then the 10:00 bike tour - ok let's try! With the two of us the tour group was 20 - entirely unmanageable as we tried to get the group through the many traffic lights on the tour. As a result the tour guide shortened the tour and gave no real information about the city. All we really did was cycle around the city and wait at traffic lights. Bad experience.
Great way to see Munich!
Roland was our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable about the history of the city, telling lots of stories about the city and its leaders. It's a great way to spend part of your visit to Munich!
Perfect introduction to Munich
This 2 hour walking trip covered all of the basic info and major tourist spots in central Munich. Out guide was excellent with great stories and historical info to bring Munich to life. Highly recommended
Discover Munich with Jens
Jens made our day today. He gave us such a great look into Munich--amazing perspective we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. We threw 101 questions at him and he answered each one thoroughly and thoughtfully. Our favorite parts of the tour included the Hofbrauhaus, Our Blessed Lady Cathedral, and seeing the glockenspiel in all its glory. Great tour.
Discover Munich tour
Thanks to Keith for an excellent 2 1/4 hour tour of the old city. It covered so much that you wouldn't have found out on your own. Interesting and entertaining with Keith quite happy to talk "off script" and answer any questions. Good value and a very good overview for anyone in the city for a short time.
Discover Munich
Our guide Iain was a walking encyclopedia of information. Covered quite a bit of Munich's history in a short amount of time. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend to any first-time visitors to Munich.
