Description

I would like to invite you to get to know Berg am Laim with me! I will meet you at the S-Bahn station (“Berg-am-Laim”), which is only a 13-minute ride from the main station and 11 minutes from Marienplatz.

This suburb is one of Munich’s hidden gems, off the beaten track and away from the hoards of tourists you will find in the city centre. So come and stroll with me through the suburb I live in with my family, and take a little bit of everyday Munich life with you.

Berg am Laim was originally a small, remote village, but was swallowed up by the rapidly expanding neighbour, Munich, about 100 years ago. You will learn how and why this little village played a big role in the city planning. We will visit one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the city of Munich and you will have the chance to buy delicious local specialties at a traditional bakery or at the local market.

At the end of our tour you will have the chance to sample this way of life in a small, cosy beer-garden.
