On arrival at the Memorial Site, you can have a small break to grab a drink and a snack. Your tour will then start, with your qualified guide explaining the layout of the area and how the camp came into existence.
The tour is designed to follow the recommendations of the Comite International de Dachau (CID) – a group of survivors who helped create the Memorial Museum, their objective being to follow the path of the prisoners.
The tour follows the prisoners from their arrival through to administration, their daily lives and, sometimes, their deaths.
After visiting the museum complex and viewing the original buildings, including the original gas chamber and crematoria, you’ll make your way back to Munich.
The tour of the Memorial Site can be arranged to suit your schedule; the minimum possible length is 4.5 hours and the maximum is 6.5 hours.
