Description

0830 Hours: The tour begins by a pickup from your hotel/residence within Nairobi followed by a transfer to the Giraffe Centre – a conservation centre that breeds the endangered Rothschild’s Giraffe in captivity and reintroduces them into the wild.
Located 17 km from the City Centre in the Karen suburbs, the center has rescued, hand-reared and released around 500 orphaned giraffes back into the wild since opening in 1979. This attraction offers opportunities to feed the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe by hand.

1015 Hours: Proceed to the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage located in a secluded area of the Nairobi national park. Here, orphaned baby elephants and other animals are taken care of by a dedicated team of conservationists. The elephant orphanage is open to the public one hour a day.

1100 Hours: The baby animals are brought from the national park for a mud-bath at the orphanage for an hour where you can get close to them and sometimes touch them. You shall have an opportunity to view the handlers feeding them.
