Pozzuoli's Harbour: ready to sail?

Porto di Pozzuoli

Why locals love it

Pozzuoli is a small commune belonging to Napoli. Its main harbor deserves attention for several reasons, may that be for its numerous restaurant, for the charming coastal buildings, for its chilled out vibes, for its boats leaving to the islands, for its rich fish market or for its iconic Serapis Temple dating back to approx. 100 AD.

Why you should visit it

During early morning you can visit the fish market or more pragmatically just move to eat the same fish in the evening. The Serapis Temple is not to be missed, not only for its archaeological interest but also because it marks the phenomenon of the Bradyseism: the gradual uplift/descent of part of the Earth's surface caused by underground magma.

Special tip

Pozzuoli is arguably the best departing points to the Islands of Procida and Ischia. You can reach Pozzuoli by the train called Cumana.
