Locals love the Brooklyn Bridge because it is one of the most iconic bridges in the world, and defines the city's resiliant attitude. Opened in 1883 as the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time, the Brooklyn Bridge is a National Historic Landmark as well as a New York City Landmark.

No trip to NYC is complete without a selfie taken atop the Brooklyn Bridge. The views from the bridge are also spectacular, including lower Manhattan, DUMBO, the Statue of Liberty and Governor's Island. Because of these remarkable vistas, the bridge is a hot spot for photophraphers and tourists alike.
Although the bridge is worth-the-throngs, go expecting crowds. Visit the bridge mid week, during the day, or in the off season if possible.
