Why locals love it

The USS Intrepid aircraft carrier is a national landmark that served tours of duty in WWII and Vietnam. Today it stands in the Hudson River as a sea, air, & space museum, promoting science and history while honoring military veterans.

Why you should visit it

With the flight simulator, rock wall for climbing, and interactive exhibits, the Intrepid is sure to keep you busy for an afternoon. Visit the Space Shuttle Pavilion to see the Enterprise, the world's first space shuttle, while other highlights include the Concorde and a US submarine.

Special tip

Outdoor film screenings of popular movies and concerts are held on the deck during the summer.
