Light Ale or Dark Ale?

McSorley's Old Ale House

Why locals love it

In business for 150 years, this is one of the oldest bars in New York City. The walls are lined with newspaper clippings and photos that tell the story of its rich history (Abe Lincoln and John Lennon drank here!).

Why you should visit it

If you are one of those people that never knows what to order, this places makes it easy to choose: light beer or dark beer served in small mugs (one order of beer=two mugs). The sawdust floors, wooden bar, and general atmosphere will transport you back in time.

Special tip

Credit cards don't fit in with the decor. This establishment takes cash only, my friends.
