Sorry for the delay. The following restaurants are of good quality and service: Mr B's, Royal House, The Gumbo shop and Court of Two Sisters

I have been to New Orleans and there are so many great restaurants if you stay off Bourbon Street. It's been about 4 years so I can't remember them all, but as Arthur said, the side streets in the French Quarter including Emeril Lagasse's NOLA and Muriel's Jackson Square have some great food. Don't hesitate to go into little dive restaurants that you might think to avoid because you can get fresh delicious food at a reasonable cost. Also, check TripAdvisor for recent reviews on restaurants in New Orleans. We didn't get to Magazine Street but I understand that area has a great restaurant scene also.

This is the New York thread but many of us are into food. I haven't been to New Orleans yet, going in May but want to check out:

Domilise (po boys)
Taceaux Lacueaux (tacos)
Atchafalaya
Cafe Du Monde (coffee & beignets)
Pho Tau Bay (Pho)
Cochon Butcher
R&O Pizza Place (Roast Beef Po Boy)

Frankie & Johnny's - Crawfish etc
Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits

Hang out on Frenchman St. in Marigny not in the French Quarter...
