Why locals love it

The Jimmy is one of New York's best rooftop bars. It is perched high atop the Jame Hotel located in SoHo. During the early evening and on weekends there is a pool area open to guests where you can lounge on deck chairs and enjoy some cocktails.

Why you should visit it

The Jimmy has some of the best views of any rooftop bar in New York City. It is also not as difficult to get into as other upscale rooftop bars / nightclubs (such as The Top of the Standard or PHD).

The Jimmy is particularly popular in the Summer time, when the weather is nice outside.

Special tip

Check out the Jimmy in the Spring and Summer, when this rooftop lounge really comes alive.

This is one of my favorite placed to go. I have never had any issues getting in and I am of mixed race with very brown skin. They even let me enter with my small dog and other non white people. It is a great place for drinks and good DJ music to just hangout. The pool is a nice touch when it is warm out. My favorite thing is when they put the red LOVE sign up because it is great in pictures next to the NYC backdrop.

Hey Wendy, were you trying to enter through the hotel or the club entrance on the side?

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! With all the hate going on in the world, Jimmy Rooftop just added to the mix. I attempted to go to this lounge last night for a birthday celebration and was denied entry apparently you had to make reservations. The funny thing is all of my friends walked in moments before me but when I arrived a white doorman with thick black frame glasses stopped me and asked for reservations. Immediately after some other girls walked right up and asked him to go in because they wanted to get a drink “without any reservations” Then another group of people, then another! The people he let in were underdressed and did not have reservations but they where all WHITE!!! I was dressed to impress with my two girlfriends and husband and we asked to doorman why we could not go in when he was letting others in that did not have reservations? His response was a shoulder shrug and sarcastic laugh. I have never felt so diminished as a person that in today’s world me and 3 friends were refused entry as if segregation still existed. I will end this with the way I started PLEASE END THE HATE! We need more love in this world!
