The museum consists of Pierpont Morgan’s collection of illuminated, literary, and historical manuscripts, early printed books, and old master drawings and prints. A collection of ancient seals, tablets, and papyrus fragments from Egypt and the Near East are on exhibition showing the earliest evidence of writing. There is a café but it's pricy.
