Ari was a fantastic host. He was engaging, thoughtful, and very sensitive to the crowd's needs (offering to stop for bathroom breaks, providing a photographer for us, handing out a flyer with all the artists instagram handles, etc.). Meeting in a coffee shop before and even after was a great idea too because it gave people the chance to get to know each other, make friends, connections, etc. Would definitely go again!

There are people out there who have the same interests/values as me! haha. Just good to be surrounded with people who are into art, want to engage in friendly banter, and even those who don't have to be tied to their phones 24/7.

Highlights

  • See murals from internationally-acclaimed street artists!
  • Visit and explore Brooklyn's cultural scene!
  • Enjoy local coffee, beer and fun conversations!

Description

We will gather at City of Saints, an inviting, art-centric coffee brewery, where we you can feel free to try one of Brooklyn's finest coffee blends (or loose-leaf tea) on the house.

We'll then head out to discover the surrounding walls from the Graff Collective— a hidden gem featuring 20+ artists from all over the world. I'll share some of their unique stories, common styles/techniques, and the cultural roots of NYC’s graffiti scene. Midway through, we also have the option to hit a local bar for a quick rest stop to get refreshed with a cold drink or snack.

From there, we'll explore the internationally-acclaimed Bushwick Collective— the largest mural collection in the U.S., with new pieces going up every other week this summer. Make sure to pick out your favorite mural so we can get you a Polaroid photo to take home.

We'll finish up at a beer bar with some phenomenal local brews, filled with art all over the walls. Don't forget-- your first drink is on me!

Along the way, I'll also be happy to share information on NYC spots to visit, best transit, or any other questions like where to find some of Brooklyn's best pizza. (Hint: It's nearby our last stop.)

The host was so well informed with the street art community + truly took the time to plan out the logistics.
