Our tour starts at the world-famous Chelsea Market. After an introduction to the area’s history, you’ll have some free time within the market to sample some baked goods and snacks, and maybe even do a little shopping.
We’ll then make our way to the High Line – a 1.45-mile/2.33-kilometre linear park built on an elevated section of a disused New York Central Railroad spur. You’ll hear about the controversy surrounding the park’s construction and the impact it had on local residents.
Take in the fantastic view of Chelsea Piers, see where the ill-fated Titanic was meant to dock in 1912 and spot The Standard, an 18-storey luxury hotel.
Finally, we’ll head into the heart of the Meatpacking District, passing the Gansevoort Hotel, several high-fashion flagship stores and some trendy bars.
