This was a great walking tour that allowed us to see a little bit of everything and learn some history of the city. Our guide, Patrick, was knowledgable and entertaining. More importantly, he was incredibly patient with us and our toddler (who wanted to walk on his on a good majority of the way.) We loved that this tour included tickets for us to explore the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on our own as well. It was a long day in the summer heat, but we enjoyed every second. If you have only a short time in he city and want to get a great overview, this tour is definitely the right one for you. If you can book a tour with Patrick, we highly recommend doing so.

Description

This entertaining and informative 2-hour walking tour begins at the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House, the original site of Fort Amsterdam, where Manhattan really began. You’ll learn how New Amsterdam became New York and see other sights in the area, including Bowling Green Park and the famous Charging Bull statue.

Next, we’ll walk over to Fraunces Tavern – New York's oldest building, and up Stone Street for a vivid taste of New Amsterdam. Afterwards, we’ll amble over to Wall Street, the Manhattan Trust Bank and the House of Morgan, where America's first millionaire conducted business. You’ll learn how Wall Street got its name and see the famous New York Stock Exchange.

We’ll then head to Federal Hall, the site of the country’s first capitol building, where George Washington was inaugurated in 1789. For the final stop, we’ll visit the 9/11 Memorial and admire its magnificent reflecting pools.

At the conclusion of the tour we’ll walk to Battery Park where you can use your skip-the-line privileges to board the ferry to Liberty Island. Once on the island, you can enjoy a self-guided tour of the museum and pedestal. The ticket also includes admission to Ellis Island.

Excellent tour - Would highly recommend!
My best friend and I were visiting NYC and took the Downtown tour. The guide was funny and interesting, and answered all the questions we had about the city. We really liked that the tour included tickets to the Statue of Liberty. Would definitely recommend this tour to friends and family.
