The ghost tour was terrific. The tour guide, Nicole, was very knowledgeable about the gramercy area and all of the haunted areas and locations contained within. She took us all around and even tied in modern film and culture into the tour which shows me that this company really does their research for their tours. If you want a great tour with really knowledgeable tour guides I would totally recommend this company.

Description

After meeting at the Washington Square Hotel, we’ll work our way towards Washington Square Park – the most haunted park in the city. You’ll hear about the infamous Hanging Tree and the events that gave it its name.

We’ll then head to the Brown Building, the site of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, where the victims still linger to this day.

Making our way across the park and up 5th Avenue, we’ll pass the Church of the Ascension (haunted by artist John Lafarge) before stopping at 14 West 10th Street, reportedly the most haunted house in Manhattan. It’s home to 22 spirits and was the site of several murders.

Next, we’ll head into the heart of the West Village, passing Emma Lazarus's house and one of the most beautiful libraries in New York. We’ll see the Stonewall Inn and Sheridan Square, where the Stonewall Riots of 1969 took place, and stop at 12 Gay Street, a house that’s haunted by several spirits including former New York City mayor Jimmy Walker.

After crossing Christopher Street, we’ll visit Marie's Crisis and Chumley's, a historic West Village speakeasy.

Ghoooost tour of Greenwich Village
This tour could not have been more in my wheelhouse: ghosts, history, nyc downtown... SO much fun! I learned a ton, saw some murder houses, saw some places I'd heard of but never been able to find---like the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. Heard some tales of old NY I never knew. Pretty much does not get better than the ghost of Mark Twain. Srsly. This is a lot of walking! But well worth it. Tons of fun & actually kind of spooky!
