We had the most personable and informed host/guide, Patrick for this "must see" tour. He had his tricks to streamline the process so we did not need to wait in line like the other folk. This tour is well worth it for that alone but the best part was his knowledge of the sites. Patrick had anecdotal examples to embellish the facts available at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It made for a very enjoyable experience. He also even showed us some photos of family members who immigrated through Ellis Island. It was very special, indeed. One reason we chose this trip was the start time was 9:30 instead of 8:30 am. That is also a big plus when you are on a vacation. Do not miss!

Highlights

Enjoy priority boarding on the Statue of Liberty ferry

Take in the sights of the New York skyline from the Statue of Liberty pedestal

Visit the Immigration Museum on Ellis Island

Description

After meeting your guide at Castle Clinton on the southern tip of Manhattan, you’ll board the ferry. This tour includes priority boarding, which means no waiting in line!

Once on Liberty Island, you’ll be given a guided tour of the museum. Highlights include one of the original statue torches, rare memorabilia and the plaque engraved with the poem “The New Colossus” that was at the base of the statue from 1903 until the 1980s. Next, take in the sights of the New York skyline from the observation deck.

You’ll then take the ferry over to Ellis Island where you’ll hear fascinating stories of America's peak immigration years. You’ll visit the Great Hall and learn about the process of passing through Ellis Island as a newly arrived immigrant, hear personal stories and see family photos. You’ll also learn how you can trace a relative’s arrival on the island.

The tour ends when the group breaks for lunch (not provided). You can stay as long as you like before returning to Manhattan.

Very informative tour of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty
Have been to New York before but never visited the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island, so this trip was the perfect solution. Our guide Patrick was very knowledgeable and provided some interesting and fascinating facts on the tour. Well paced with free time at the end, to return on the ferry at your leisure. Thoroughly recommended.
Statue of Liberty/Ellis with Nicole is GREAT
The Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island with Nicole is GREAT and well worth the money. Nicole isn't going through the motions or spitting out a memorized spiel like many tour guides -- she's really into the sites and their background (I think she was a history minor, which explains it). She's excited and loves what she does. Informative, interesting, professional, AND personable (she genuinely likes and cares about her tour group). This is a great tour -- can't think of how it could be improved.
