Why locals love it

Locals looking for an alternative to the same old clubs on the island are crossing the East River to check out this popular new venue in Williamsburg. Verboten is spacious at 10,000 square feet and specializes in underground electronic music, while attracting a cool, laid-back crowd.

Why you should visit it

Come here if you just want to dance and have a good time surrounded by likeminded people. Expect top notch music, 360 degrees of screens for an impressive audio/visual experience, great drinks, and a fun crowd. If all the dancing gives you an appetite, head to the Cabaret Bar where you can order small food plates.

Special tip

The club is open Fridays and Saturdays, but check their schedule for special events scheduled on weeknights.

(Not knocking the submission here -- the club was indeed a very cool spot for dance/EDM enthusiasts for those who didn't fall victims to their practices. Just sharing an update/relevant info.)

This club has closed. Also had a high profile article written about them about the club engaging in racist practices, sexual harrassment of employees, and other highly unethical/shady activities.
