The Castle's Hill is the most important place to be seen in Nice and you can't leave the city without having been up there to have a look at the breath taking views on the whole city and the sea coast. You will also find there: gardens, a park, a kids playground, a little café, some ruins of the ancient Cathedrale from the middle ages..

Locals go there to relax sitting on the grass, to have picnics, to meet friends.. It is a peaceful place. You will not see any Castle there as Louis XIV decided to destroy it (and the fortifications too) to turn that place into a beautiful park, when his army got Nice in 1701. But you will be able to see the cute waterfall :)
There are few ways to reach the top of the hill. The easiest is to take the lift (free).
