Why locals love it
This is the most significant and impressive of the three gates on the city's magnificent venetian walls. Originally known as Porta Guiliana in honour of Giulio Savorgano the engineer that designed and erected the walls.

The gate has three large domed rooms used as a cultural and conference centre.
