Description

By joining the Andallazo tour you will have to get ready to explore the last divided capital of the world. Nicosia combines the old with the new, the natural with the artificial, the traditional with the unconventional!
I will take you beyond the typical tourist destination to the soul of the city and explain you how this city became divided!

The Turkish invasion in 1974 made Nicosia stronger over the years and kept the locals united to make a new beginning for the future generation. I will introduce you to the authentic local culture that has flourished inside the historic center through architecture, street art and delicious flavors.

Join me and discover Nicosia's social and cultural hotspots. I can share tips on what to do, where to eat and drink cool stuff, and how to enjoy the city like a local. I am an architect who've grown up and studied in Nicosia; therefore I know every corner of the city inside out!

Amazing and unique
for Andrea
I accompanied my husband to Cyprus for his work trip. While I was researching Nicosia, likealocalguide popped up on my search and I decided why not go for this. I love meeting and interacting with local people and learning about their cultures and how they live and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to do that. I must say my experience with andrea exceeded my expectations in every way. We got it off immediately and instinctively she knew where to take me or what to show me. We didn't visit just the normal touristy things but she introduced me to Nicosia from her eyes and that's what made the experience so interesting and memorable. We visited interesting art exhibits in the city, talked about the history of the divided city, how it made her feel and how it has shaped her identity and those of the people around her

I think it's one of the most interesting experiences I've had and I will cherish it dearly. Thank you Andrea!! You are wonderful and may you have the opportunity to share the history of your city and country to many more people.

We had an awesome day with Andrea as our guide! She is such a lovely and friendly person as she took 4h of her free time, on a Sunday, to walk around the city with us.We gave her a list of spots we wanted to check out and she took it to the next level, taking us through secret passegeways so we would get the perfect view of the city.(she even took us to other spots besides the ones we gave her on the list). She gave us a lot of cool historic info about everything and the star of the day was when she took us to a restaurant serving authentic cypriot dishes, where we had the most amazing meze platter and fell in love with sheftalies :D.She knows her way around the city!Would definitely recommend, especially to those interested in architecture!
More than just a tour
for Andrea
When booking the tour on Like a Local, we were more than sceptical. But Andrea made us lose all our doubts from the beginning on. Not only that the tour was worth the money, it was way more than that. Super friendly as she is, she showed us secret spots, answered all our questions and told us interesting facts and insider stories about the city. She took a lot of time for us and even introduced us to her friends. In the end, we didn't just feel like understanding the city from an inside point of view, but also like having made a new friend. We would recommend Andrea to everyone, and are looking forward to see her the next time!
