Why locals love it

A fantastic Japanese pub with a great selection of sake, homespun cocktails and small, traditional dishes. Izakaya is extremely cozy and feels more like someone's living room than a bar. Sit in the front room or make your way through the hole in the wall and find a seat at one of the long, wooden tables.

Why you should visit it

Izakaya is a hidden treasure nestled in a quiet neighbourhood in Fredensborg/St. Hanshaugen. The bartenders are knowledgeable and will help find the right saki for you. Don't be afraid to share a table. Walk through gateway and go down the stairs to the door on the right.

Special tip

My personal favourite!

I don’t agree with the description of this as someone’s livingroom. Izakaya is wonderfully messy, chaotic, busy and great. It’s usually very crowded, but try to get a seat at the bar and have a lively conversation with the crew.
