Airbnb is what I recommend. Try to search for neighbourhoods such as Grunerløkka, St Hanshaugen or Bislett.

Dear Jan, Anker Hotel very close to Grunerløkka .you can also try citybox - Hotel close to Oslo Centralstation. From both places it's very convenient to get around in Oslo :)

For two nights, airbnb is ok...but i think a hotel/inn is easier as its less hassle for a short time. Youre good anywhere you chose in city center as its not that big of a city. I recommend Comfort Hotel, near the central train station and opera house,

I'd AirBnB it - going for a place not far from a central metro station, in the Majorstua area.

If you are going for a hotel Clarion Collection Hotel Folketeateret is a nice pick that is central and has a good breakfast. I have personally stayed there.
