This is a wonderful place, with more than 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. It is a sculpture park, where you can relax, take a walk and why not some nice photos. It is a must if you are visiting Oslo. You will like it.

Walk along the Aker river

Akerselva (the Aker river) divides the city center into east and west. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of cars and trams, the river winds its way through the city. There's a small waterfall/rapids around Mølla which spray a refreshing mist onto the walking path.

I don't know if locals would say we love it. It's more somewhere we walk by on our way from Nationaltheatret to Majorstuen. I do always stop to watch the changing of the guard though which is elegant in its precision.

Every year in late September torches lights an 8km stretch of the Aker River. Along the way there is everything from art installations to dance performances and flame jugglers. There are even a few cafes selling hot chocolate and waffles.
