The best view of
Canadian Museum of History7
Why locals love it
Aside from being a great museum with displays that cover the breadth of Canadian history, a children's museum, and an IMax cinema this museum is located in a lovely place on the Ottawa River. On rainy days the children's museum is a great place to take children of all ages for lots of hands on activities.
Why you should visit it
Even if you do not go inside the museum you should go admire the architecture and the view of the Ottawa river. The museum is clad in colourful Tyndall limestone from Manitoba. You may find fossils embedding in the limestone if you look closely. Entrance is free; every Thursday 4 to 8 p.m, July 1st, and November 11th.
The best view of Parliament Hill and the Rideau Canal locks. is from between the two billings of the history museum.
