The cave is near Philippe Lake and its popular camp ground in Gatineau Park. A nice trail (#50) follows the lake from Parent Beach to the cave trail (#54). The one way distance is about 5 km with some steep sections. Many people rent a canoe or kayak at Parent Beach then paddle to the end of the lake before hiking uphill the last 1 km.
This is one of the few accessible caves in the area. It is only 150 meters long but has many interesting features to see. The caves are passible for most reasonably fit people but there are some steep slippery areas and one drop-off in a completely dark area. Another area is completely dark with water 1 metre deep and limited headroom.
Start at the top entrance. Wear good sturdy shoes and bring a flashlight. Be prepared to get wet up to your neck. See the maps on the website.
