Often described as 'Oxford's worst kept secret', The Turf Tavern serves up to 12 different draft beers at a time. The beers are constantly changing, with old favorites often returning by popular demand. Turf is favored for the right reasons: food and beer. These are consumed outside all year round with heaters and parasols to keep the weather off.

Why you should visit it
The Turf Tavern satisfies all the criteria of an 'Oxford adventure', only accessible via a narrow passage under the bridge of sighs or a cobbled street on the opposite side. The pub itself perfectly captures a classic Oxford pub with friendly staff, 13th century architecture and a lively atmosphere. Very busy at peak times, but not with tourists!
Special tip
Order something on draft (from one of the bar taps). The draft beers are well priced at around £3.50, but 'standard' pub/bar drinks can be expensive.
