There isn’t much to see in the 13th district, though Butte-aux-Cailles is definitely worth the visit. This village-like neighbourhood is home to restaurants, bars, and quiet paved streets. It’s a more laidback alternative to other crowded and touristy places. A little gem that locals would like to keep a secret!

You can visit at any time of the day to take photos, eat, drink, shop or visit galleries – this place is very generous with its opening hours. There are many French restaurants, among them Chez Gladines which is mostly known for its unique atmosphere. L'Oisive Thé is a cosy place to have lunch or tea.
It's definitely nicer during spring and summer as you can eat and drink on the terraces. Check out Passage du Moulin des Près.
