Why locals love it
Located right in the middle of the Latin Quarter, it is one of the few places in the area that is not aimed at passing tourists. The food is consistently good and the service is gruff but friendly. The cafe is extremely popular with academics from the Sorbonne next door - perhaps it's the excellent selection of wines!
Why you should visit it
Excellent coffee, classic French bistro design, a nice open frontage and small streetside tables make this a lovely place to pass the time in. The food is exceptional, with generous portions and a simple menu that changes frequently.
Special tip
If you're coming just for an excellent coffee, consider having it at the counter instead! You'll pay 2.40 instead of 4 euros.
