Caveau de la Huchette is one of the best and oldest jazz clubs in Paris. There’s a bar and cosy seating on the ground floor, and a dance floor in the basement. Numerous famous jazzmen have performed here since the 1940s. Entrance is €15 on Friday and Saturday nights and €13 from Sunday to Thursday (€10 for students). Cocktails are €10.
If you like jazz music, you mustn’t miss this place. It’s amazing because it was originally a 16th century wine cellar. Now people of all ages and pretty skilled dancers come here to have fun. The atmosphere is reminiscent of post WWII freedom celebrations in Paris. Okay, I wasn’t around then, but I imagine it was like this!
It can be touristy but it’s really worth it. Don't forget your dancing shoes. The benches are crowded, but remember you come here to dance swing!
