An atypical bar in the Latin quartier

Why locals love it

Hidden down a little street in the 5th district near the Luxembourg Gardens and the Sorbonne, this small bar is a true gem. Art students have completely embellished this place with a trompe-l'oeil wall, mock Parisian cobblestone streets, benches, traffic lights and lampposts. Happy hour from 17:30–19:30.

Why you should visit it

This unusual bar offers a large range of beers (I'm fond of the triple carmélite – it’s a bit strong but very tasty), though they also serve cocktails and other drinks. Here you can try a French liqueur called ‘chartreuse’ made from flowers and plants. It’s great for digestion! If you're a group, you can book the square table at the back.

Special tip

There’s a nice sandwich shop nearby where you can choose your own ingredients and eat at the bar.
