Why locals love it

This dessert shop in the heart of the Marais offers authentic waffles. The most known is the waffle with vanilla from Madagascar. I could not resist to the flagship waffle, but you can taste other flavors like speculoos, lemon, pistachio or rum-raisin. Flavors change through the seasons. The lovely box of 6 miniature vanilla waffles was 7.5€.

Why you should visit it

The first Meert shop opened in 1761 in Lille, a city located about two hours North from Paris. They started offering the vanilla waffles that made their reputation from 1849. The Parisian boutique was opened only in 2010! The empire style decoration is also worth a visit.
