So, these are two completely different venues.
Montmartre hotel Terrass is in a truly perfect area. Montmartre is the highest point in Paris. They have a rooftop bar with great views—very important in Paris. It’s my favorite area, but you need to know that it’s not in the direct center of Paris so it’s quieter and more like a real village. It’s an artist colony and therefore is different than your other choice.
The Edouard 7 is located in a very upscale area close to Galeries Lafayette and the Opera. It is a VERY busy and often crowded area. However, you are closer to many sites than in Montmartre.
Your choice should be based on what you are looking for in a vacation. Night life, bustle of the big city OR having a more laid back area where things are slower. It definitely gets Cronin Montmartre, but you didn’t say what time of year. That makes a big difference.
Hope this helps.

Thx.. im going in August I have the walking food tour planned in Monmarte but will also being seeing the louvre and Notre Dame depending on how much reconstruction is done by that time and of course have to get that picture in front of the ET other then the food tour nothign is planed i kinda just want to wake up and walk and see what happens
Hi Yolanda,

Both hotels are great, but in very different neighborhoods.
Edouard 7 is near the Opera and the Terrass Hotel is in Montmartre.
For a local Parisian experience, I recommend the Terrass Hotel in Montmartre, for the area is amazing and they have an incredible terrace on the rooftop.
Very Parisian vibe in a lively, truly Parisian neighborhood.
Hope that helps,
Alison

Yolanda, be aware that half the city is on holiday for August. However, there is still plenty to do! You’ll have a wonderful time!
The 2nd arrondissement is more central. It will be easier for a stroll around or to go anywhere.
There are quiet a few around Montmartre. A 3 star should be comfortable and convenient.. terrasse is also very nice. Mostly walking distance from both. Bus and metro service is excellent and can easily take you around Paris for visits. Please feel free if you have any other questions. Gerald

Hi Yolanda,

You have a good Taste... indeed both look great!

The Edouard 7 is situated more Central than the Terrass Hotel,
it’s more the urban atmosphere around. Very near the Opera and the Louvre.

The terrass is in front of the Montmartre cemetery and you might have a free view over Paris...

Hope this helps you choosing...
Have a good stay in Paris.

All the best
Christine

My vote is the 2nd arr. Great food all around, used to live there and I enjoy the vibe, plus it’s easy to get to places since it’s central, whereas Montmartre is good for casual walking around and getting lost for a day or so, but not everyday.
