Hello. I am arrving in Paris on a Sunday afternoon and I heard that all supermarkets close on Sunday at 13h.

There is a Monoprix (105 Rue de la Convention, 75015 Paris, France) near the Boucicaut metro stop on rue Ave Felix Faure that is open til 19:40 on Sunday. Just type in your address in Google maps and then zoom in to look for the shops. Click on it and in the description box it will tell you the hours for all the days of the week. Convenience shops, the small Mono'op, Lidl and Carrefour City and green grocers, all close at 13h. Its the large Monoprix that stays open. I found two large Monoprix in the St Germain arrondissment in March and they were open on Sundays (if one is open the others will be also ) Have fun!

Thank you very much
That one should be open until 7pm. It's called Monoprix, here is the address:105 Rue de la Convention, 75015 Paris

Thanks Eléonore!

It is indeed very hard to find something open...

Your best guess would be the Franprix at :
143 Rue de Lourmel
75015 Paris

The opening hours on Google says open until 19h00 on Sunday. But it’s possible they will be closed even if they say they’re open.

But by walking around it’s possible to find small corner store open.

Thanks Stephane!
Hello and welcome to France. Yes every quater has small all round grocery stores all over Paris. Some are open very late. You have two of them on rue de Lourmel and two others on avenue Émile Zola, which is walking distance. Please enjoy your stay. Just to precise fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, hard and soft drinks, etc

Thanks Anthony. According to Google the Sogimarket has closed permanently. And the Franprix closes at 13:00h.
I think I might be lucky at the Monoprix at the Rue de la Convention
Hi again,

There is another thing you must know about opening hours in Paris. I’ve had multiple issues with this avec the last years... and countless futile arguments.

The stores always close their doors about 10 to 15
minutes before closing time.

According to the French Law, the closing hours is the time at which the employees leave the store... it have nothing to do with the client’s point of view.

If you arrive 15 minutes before, you may have a small chance to convince the person at the door...

10 minutes of less... in my experience... it’s not even worth trying to argue about it unless it’s a life threatening situation.

There is an exception... for drugstores.
There is always one on night & week-end duty in the area, but you have to go to the police station first and ask about it (they change regularly). For the pharmacist safety, the police officer will confirm your need and identity and they call the pharmacist to book the urgent opening of their store.
