What are good places to purchase affordable art supplies? Possibly close to Gard du Nord?

Hi Shanna,
you already have some choice within the previous answers even if I may say Sennelier is quite expensive.
I will add Rougier & Plé, next to place de la République (15 bd des Filles du Calvaire) which is a reference as well for art (and craft) supplies.

Hi Massimo, Thanks for the reference to Rougier & Plé, I didn't know of them before.
It is quite big (4 floors) so I do hope you will find what you are looking for.
hi you should go to "Marché aux Puce"

Hello Shanna!

I agree with "Le Geant des Beax Arts" and for "Rougier et Ple"! Check the "Passage Cloute" as well ;) (has good bargains!)

Hi Shanna,

In my experience, Le Géant des Beaux-Arts (https://www.geant-beaux-arts.fr/) near Voltaire is the most affordable in Paris. They stock almost everything and the staff is quite helpful if you are looking for something specific. Lavrut, Passage Choiseul, (http://www.lavrut.com/) is slightly expensive. I have also recently discovered La Pallette du Faubourg near Republique (http://www.lapalettedufaubourg.fr/), but cannot really say if it is affordable or not as I did not buy anything there.

Hope it helps. If you are interested in arts in Paris, do take some time out to visit my website Urban Mishmash (www.urbanmishmash.com), an art and cultural publication focused on exhibitions and cultural events in Paris.

Best,
