Holiday in Paris

I will be in Paris for the last two weeks of December. Can someone advise me what places to visit or eat at? I will be all over the city but what is there specifically in the 10th ARR? Also, what are some Parisian festivities for Christmas Eve/Day?

Some things we are looking to do besides the tourist attractions in Paris are:

Try the best crepes, french onion soup, steak, and any other authentic foods in Paris. (We are huge foodies)

Fly or travel to another nearby country via airplane or train. Any economical suggestions? EasyJet doesn't fly to Amsterdam.

Hi! The first time I ever visited Paris was the week between Christmas and New Year's. So this is giving me fond memories. :-)

I can't speak to whether you should fly in or take the train, but I can definitely speak to the food - there is FAR more than crepes, French onion soup and steak. In fact, you may want to let go any quests for specific foods, and just think of it as exploring restaurants in general. I mean, there are good crepe shops, sure - but you're leaving out creme brulee and croissants and vin chaud and that amazing carrot soup I had in a restaurant by Notre Dame....

Go to a variety of bistros, you'll get a decent meal at a fairly affordable price.

Next tip for a foodie: there are a couple shops you absolutely should visit: G. Detou and Izrael. G. Detou is a baking supply shop: but not selling pots and pans, rather they sell a variety of specialty ingredients like baking chocolate, nuts, cake-decorating candies, etc. Last time I was in Paris I lugged home three different kinds of candied flowers. Similarly, Izrael is a spice shop where you can get some spice blends that may be hard to find where you're from (the spice mix Raz el Hanout is hard to find in the USA, for example, so I grabbed some there).
