Hi- I'll be in Paris on Christmas 2016. Me and my husband will be there only for three days and i was wondering if you guys can make any suggestions as to how i can make the best use of my time there. I want to experience Paris, not just see it.

What would you say about a running tour ? You can see and learn the most of Paris in an active way. Specially indicated when you don't have much time and you want to taste delicious French dishes without gaining weight!
We offer for couples a special romantic running tour, which is not included in this website. Get in touch and we'll send our proposition to you. Along the tour we recommend special places for two to go for having a romantic meal/night/visit.

Ohlala wow wonderful to be in Paris for Christmas
3 days are shorts but can be memorable. If you haven't booked your hotel yet, I would suggest you book it either in Le Marais (oldest part of paris, charming, lots of culture and shopping) or in Saint Germain des Pres; You will get the feeling of the frenzy shopping for Christmas. If the weather allows it WALK in the little streets of le Marais and Ile Saint Louis, Ile de la Cité. Focus on one museum if you like. I would recommend Centre Pompidou to get the scenery from the roof top and you can book a dinner there, the view is amazing. The restaurant is a little bit expensive but not anaffordable. You certainly need to see some of the bridges by night.
And of course, don't miss the christmas shopping in the city with lots of small designers and best shopping to take home. Enjoy your time and don't hesitate to ask for more tips when you get your travels more precise.

Salut, Shruti.
there is so much to see in Paris but your time is limited so even though the museums are wonderful, my recommendation is to save them for another time. I traveled solo on my first visit to this beautiful city and felt quite safe wandering about on my own. I loved walking about in different directions and discovering little shops and places to eat and taking in all of the wonderful architecture with my camera.
My suggestion would be to get a travel book ( I found the Knopf Mapguide most handy) that shows the neighborhood maps and mark the places that will interest you then walk there. While walking about, you will discover unexpected wonderful places to stop and take photos, eat at a cafe, browse a shop, or rest a bit from the weather. I walked everywhere and used their efficient and clean Metro system when going farther distances. Quite easy to get around which is good as I was intimidated by the driving traffic there! :)
It is extremely romantic and beautiful to walk about if you can avoid touristy spots.
Bon chance!

Dear Shruti, almost anything you do in Paris will be wonderful. Do note that it will be pretty cold in December and rug up, then do lots of walking. We lived near the Seine in Chatelet and we could walk to the Notre Dame and the rest of the beautiful Isle de la Cite and then over to the Left Bank which was just so lovely. Little streets to wander, little cafes to try out. Keep away from the expensive places set up for tourists. We liked the tiny places with no English menus. Perhaps my favourite day was the walk through the Tuilleries Garden to the Musee d'Orangerie where they have fantastic huge Monet paintings. My grand-daughter rode on the carousel and loved it. I wanted to ride too but I am a grandmother. She found lots of amazing carousels - there's one right opposite the Eiffel Tower, another where you get off the train to go to Sacre Coeur (her favourite). Mont Martre and Sacre Coeur are well worth a visit too - so beautiful and such a wonderful view and the Dali museum is there too if you like his work!
Don't suggest you drive... The metro system is just great! You can work out where to go easily and It's safe and very reasonable.
Many people will say go to the Louvre... With only 3 days I think you can enjoy real
Paris more - it is soooo huge. Do try to get to a local market... Aligre is very authentic but there are many others. Google markets in Paris.
Have a wonderful time - you lucky people!
Hello Shruti, I see you will be short on time! If you & your husband are confident driving a scooter my company can show you around most of the city for very affordable prices :-) Also we can organise food trips with locals to experience french food traditions. Don't hesitate to visit my website www.ridensmile.fr
I wish you a great trip to Paris!
Sruti might not want to die on her honeymoon...! Hahahaha
French food traditions seems wiser to me in order to get a closer approach to the Parisians quite difficult to approach otherwise.
